Five days ago John Galliano for the house of Christian Dior Unleashed their fall 2009 rtw collection and let me tell you it was beautiful! According to Sarah Mower, from style.com,

“John Galliano found an easy compromise with a collection lightly based on the orientalism of Paul Poiret, an artistic Parisian craze dating back almost a century. No need for frantic reference-Googling here: The main point of Galliano’s device is that it gave access to the areas of harem pants, rich gilded brocades, and Asian influences in general.” More for the review click here.

I love that every piece was completely chic and stylish, and not too over designed. Sometimes designers create pieces for pure shock value and that’s it. The pieces presented are very wearable and can be translated in everyday life. What do you think? Here are some of my favorites:

The next items I was total amazed by were some on the accessories. I am totally lusting over the handbag! how much do you think that bad boy will cost this fall? I know I want one. . .

Lastly, I had to post about the beauty selection for dior’s show. To me the looks took me back to the 1920’s, the era of the flappers. If you take a look at the head piece which I thought was a cloche hat . .  It actually turns out that the artist used hair pins to create the look I was blown away! Then the make-up it was edge, but soft. Check out some of my favs below. You may see a tutorial on one of these looks, we will see, lol.

All in all, it was a fun show to preview online and if you did not get a chance to view it check out the video below!

Enjoy :)

Spring is right around the corner and the designers have already set the trends for this coming spring ‘09. One of the trends portrayed on the runway was the soft and flirty looks displayed with splashes of color, printed silks and chiffons mixed with knits. The following designers, Badgley Mischka & Diane Von Furstenberg, displayed beautiful colors looks at their collection previews:

stevemaddenchapSteve Madden is America’s most successful shoe designer. For the past 20 years, Steve Madden Shoes has been responsible for the sales and design of the company’s trendsetting shoes. Steve Madden’s vision was to give young fashion to women in an individual way. He designed footwear to express a woman’s individuality through style. Because of this, millions of shoe buyers around the world have loved the results leading Steve Madden footwear to the top of the fashion industry.

Steve Madden founded his company in 1990 with just $1,100 as seed money. He started to produce shoe designs in his Queens factory. With nothing but experience under his belt, Steve Madden was able to create a unique and creative design of shoes, leading to his own successful enterprise. After a year, Steve Madden brought back a little bit of history with his next line of footwear. Inspired by his favorite rock musicians of the 70’s, the chunky, solid heel became a signature and phenomenons in Steve Madden shoes. The platform shoe was redefined and is still worn by many classy women today.

Steve Madden designs stand for a lifestyle. All the designs have their own personality for each individual. While keeping a funky independence, the shoes embrace fashion as well. Today, Madden’s design line has expanded to clothing and accessories such as dresses, handbags, belts, sun wear, cold weather, coats and hosiery. Steve Madden is always aware of the latest trends and setting the pace for fashion. Some of the new styles for Spring 2009 include the Seeri, Sanfrann, the Quantumm, and Stinng for women. For men, the Dellray and Seldon styles help you welcome warmer weather.

You can find Steve Madden boots at quality online stores or locally at independent retailers. Steve Madden Shoes vary from Bonanza Boots, Buckled Heels, Kryten, wedges, sneakers, all the way to flip flops. Each style has its own design and purpose. Most of the shoes can be worn as casual or dress without having to switch shoes when you go to a new occasion. Madden’s footwear vision is continuously evolving. The designer himself once stated, “What inspires me is what I see people wearing on the streets of the world from New York to London and beyond. I get my ideas and inspiration from pounding the pavement all over the world. Today, fashion is dictated by individual style. To me, the fashion of the future is anything that a young guy or girl feels good wearing as long as it’s put together in the right way.”

As you know we will be transitioning to spring and guess what is a hot color from most of the retailers out there? You’ve guessed it, blue. The color blue is used in many ways such as a statement piece through accessories like shoes, handbags, and fashion jewelry. Or, it can be seen worn through clothing. hellokittywild_390Okay. . .  I am not trying to sale you this but. . . I just went to the MAC store at the Domain in Austin, TX and DANG!! I was in heaven. I thought that it was going to be crowded at the store, but it was not and that was great because I got a chance to really look at the collection and play. The sales associate from MAC, Zeke, was fantastic and he assisted us with whatever we needed. If you live in the Austin, Texas area check him out there. Heads up, they are having the official launch event this Saturday!

But anyway, my favorite from this collection was the Hello Kitty Wild. Why? I love fun bright beautiful colors and this set was all of that for me! However, if you like more subdued colors then you may like the Hello Kitty Mild collection.

The quad in the Hello Kitty Wild collection is called Too Dolly and the colors consisted of: Yogurt, Romping, Too Dolly and Stately Black. I did a swatch of them and love them soooo much that I purchased it for $38 along with the Hello Kitty Big Bow lip glaze lipstick, $14 and the Hello Kitty Nice Kitty Lipgloss, $14.

Here is the Collection:

If you live close to a MAC store I would totally do a girls night out and check it out! Otherwise if you are not close to a MAC store you can view and Shop Cosmetics at Dillard’s. Click here!, or shop the  Beauty Department at macy’s, and maccosmetics.com.

For fun and trying this look check out this AWESOME youtuber rendition of the Hello Kitty Wild quad. I think she did a fanTAstic job creating this work of art and you know I will be trying this look this weekend.

Are you in love with Chanel’s Classic Tweed Jackets like I am? I think that the jacket is so chic and timeless where it could be worn dressed up or very casual for everyday use. The only thing I don’t like about Chanel’s classic tweed jackets are the price. Some of the styles are priced so high to the point where they are equivalent to a really nice vacation to Europe or the Mediterranean. I would rather where a stylish alternative any day and still be able to have that nice vacation too.

I was received my brochure of White House|Black Market’s spring 09 looks and I was lovin’ these to jackets that I may have to add one to my wardrobe this spring. So, you know I had to share them with you all too! So, far my fav is the white and black jacket!!

chanel-look

The first style is Textured Sweater Blazer has an opulent weave of pearl dust khaki and white yarns are highlighted with rich gold and silver threads for extra shine for $98. Not bad! The other jacket is a Contrast-Tipped Sweater Jacket, This white haute cardigan is supremely styled with black mesh trim and textured, fabric-laced chain along the jewel neck, placket, and patch pockets for $98 too.

If you are loving these selections and want to add them to your spring wardrobe save $20 off a Merchandise Purchase of $80 or more at White House Black Market. Enter 8792 at Checkout. Offer Valid 02.02.09 – 03.01.09. Online Only.

Enjoy!

Is the trend of the “Maxi” dress in or out for this coming spring? I would have to say after looking at some of the spring 09 runways shows some designers are still showing them for this year. Last season I wasn’t too into them. Why? Because I just kept envisioning my mother in her moomoo when she was relaxing at home and I swore I would never where one.

However, my mind has changed and maybe since they are making the maxi dresses looks so elegant and fun these days maybe I like them more now and I can stop referring back to my mom in something like this in the 80’s, lol.

Here are some looks I loved from the runway:

And then I found some cute versions that the retailers are showing in their stores.
