I can’t believe it is that time of year again! Fall 2008 collections will be revealed during NYC’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week From Feb. 1-8. Just imagine all will pure fashion to the fullest. I sure wish I was there. I have always wanted to go and I am making it one of my goals to go either in New York or a place that I have always wanted to visit which is Paris, France. Any of you fashion divas out there going to attend? Please confess, please? If so what shows are you going to see?
If I was able to attend these are the following shows I would go see:
- Friday: I would go see BCBG Maxazria
- Sunday: DKNY, Miss Sixty
- Monday: Carolina Herrera
- Tuesday: Monique Lhuillier & Bagley Mischka
- Wednesday: Michael Kors
- Thursday: Vera Wang
- Friday: Project Runway because I love that show & Sean John
Those are my picks. Man, but how does one get invited? You know these shows are by invitation only so I guess I must become a very good customer of one of these designers or what? Anyone care to share? I have been out of the loop for a while and would sure love to know other ways.
Now if I was going, this is what I would wear to one of the shows. I love a classic black dress and then I would jazz it up a bit with accessories. What I found:
The dress is a Narciso Rodriguez dress for $700 from eluxury.com The coat I love, love, LOVE!! It is NM Exclusive Fur Collar jacket for $695 from Neiman Marcus. The collar is real Black Frost Fox (Finland) dyed. Since the weather would be a bit chilly. Then I would accessorize with the following:
This wide elastic belt is by Philosiphy de albera Ferreth for $200 from eluxury. I love the touch of the silver on the belt to add to the waist line on this dress.
The boots are on sale from macys.com. They are Anne Klien’s “Runway” boot for $70.00. I love the two textures mixed together. The handbag is a bank buster from me, but I love it. It is the Mrs Easy Way Double Slouchy bag by Dolce & Gabbana for $2350 at eluxury. The bag cost more than the dress and coat. Yikes!! I have always wanted a pair of Dior sunglasses and these I found again at eluxury. The style is called Aventura for $300 and the silver cuff by Pianegonda. So, what would my total be if I was going? $3929.00!!! That’s a vacation somewhere for some people, but if money was not a object I would totally do it.
Well, until next time I can not wait to see what will be to “in” thing for fall and to see what the celebs are going to be wearing during the festivities too.
